Why PTFE hose? PTFE, often referred to as Teflon®, has been widely used in racing for many years mainly for brake lines. The chemical compatibility and temperature properties of PTFE make it highly desirable for use throughout a racecar. Smoothbore PTFE hose in sizes larger than –6 does, however, become less suitable due to the added weight and exceptional stiffness. By adding convolutions to PTFE hose we have been able to dramatically reduce weight and substantially increase flexibility. (Teflon® is a registered trademark of Dupont) |
